Avéli Cellulite Treatment

Avéli is an FDA-approved, minimally invasive procedure designed to treat cellulite specifically on the thighs and buttocks. It targets the root cause of dimples by cutting the fibrous bands (septa) that pull the skin downward, helping to smooth the skin’s surface.

How does it work?

Using a handheld device inserted under the skin through a small incision, the provider locates and releases the connective tissue bands responsible for creating the appearance of cellulite. The device uses a light to ensure accurate targeting, offering precise and long-lasting results.

Who is a good candidate?

Ideal candidates are people close to their target weight who have moderate to severe cellulite that hasn’t improved with diet or exercise. Non-smokers with good overall health and firm skin elasticity will see the best outcomes.

Procedure and anesthesia

The treatment lasts about one hour and is performed under local anesthesia in an outpatient setting. There’s no need for general anesthesia or overnight stay.

Recovery time

Most patients resume light activities after 1 to 3 days. More intense physical activity can typically be resumed after 1 to 2 weeks. Wearing light compression garments may be recommended for optimal healing and comfort.

Visible results and longevity

Initial improvements can be seen quickly, with full results becoming more noticeable in a few weeks. Clinical studies have shown results lasting up to one year or longer, depending on individual skin characteristics and lifestyle.

Limitations

Avéli does not address fat reduction or skin tightening. It focuses exclusively on reducing dimples caused by fibrous septa, so it is not suitable for patients with sagging skin or excessive localized fat.
